So close, yet so far away!

Today would of been an awesome day to have a baby. It's 11.11.11 and Remembrance Day, it would also mean that I would of been 3 days early which is far longer than my doctors ever expected me to go yet so much better than being late. But to no avail, this baby does not seem to want to come. It must be a boy, it's going to be late and stubborn.

It was a close call though, I thought for sure today would be the day. For everyone who I keep lying to, I have been having false labour almost every night lately and last night was no exception. I started having contractions at about 9:00 pm. They only lasted for over an hour and never got crazy painful so I knew that is was a no go. I hopped into the bath and they stopped so off to bed I go. At around 3:00 am I woke to more contractions. They were light and spaced so I tried to sleep through them. Finally at 4:0o am I got up to see if I could get them closer together and stronger. I walked around, did the dishes and still they never progressed. I got them as close as 4 minutes apart but once I sat down or laid down they started to get further apart again. So back to bed at 5:00. I thought: heck, I am still getting contractions, I might just be too early, might as well get some sleep.

6:30 am Kaiya wakes us up and those darn contractions are still coming. Sporadic and ranging from 3-5 on the pain scale. I take the doggie for a walk, bounce on my ball, shower get ready and still no progress. My hubby had the day off so we planned to go for lunch with his family, By this time I am GROUCHY. These contractions are annoying. The last thing I want to do is talk to people about my false labor and have them tell me "Oh maybe today is the day then." Yeah right. Off to lunch we go. Still having annoying false labor. At this point it's been almost 9 hours of false labor, yuck. After lunch I went home and took a nap with Kaiya and the contractions stopped. Thank goodness, but so disappointing.

So for everyone who thinks that I am being a bitter pregnant lady because I am almost "late". This is the reason why I have been a hermit and a grouch, false labor is a nasty joke from Mother Nature.

39 Weeks

Today I am 39 weeks, yikes. I didn't REALLY want to make it this far but I did kind of expect to. I've had a lot of people say to me "oh you are so big you will probably go early. Your daughter was right on time so you will probably go early, blah, blah, blah." This has been so discouraging for me. Not only have I had a major "false" labor episode (one where we were literally on our way to the hospital when the contractions stopped) but all the words of "encouragement" have not helped. No I am not in labor yet, please stop asking. If something was going on or if I was feeling "off" I would tell you, please don't call/text every hour to see if there is any progres. Baby may be here today, tomorrow or even 2 weeks. We all need to be patient, please.

With that said this is where I stand:

How far along? 39 weeks, one more week till my due date *la sigh*
Total weight gain: I asked today at my doctor's appointment, a first in a long time and I am proud to report that it is only 36 pounds (please remember I gained almost 50 with Kaiya).
Stretch Marks? Same old ones, bigger, redder and nastier and still growing. I ran out of bio oil and I am refusing to buy more.
Sleep? non existent.
Best moment this week? I don't have one, false labor puts you in a FOUL mood.
Movement: Tons of wiggles and jiggles. I almost think it picked up again.
Food Cravings: None, but I have to report that I now have a real food aversion. Vanilla extract. A drop makes food overwhelmingly vanilla-ee.
Gender: Still stuck on boy.
Labour signs: Tons. Not just the false labor but I am now 3-4 cm dilated (still from last week) but baby has fully dropped now and I am all softened and stuff. So any day (is what I keep hearing).
Belly Button in or out? Well it ain't going back in till this baby comes out so still a major outie.
What I miss: Still beer, wine, coolers etc. Also I miss normal cuddles with my hubby, this bely hinders LOT!
What I am looking forward to: Labor and meeting this new little person, oh and not having acne anymore.
Weekly wisdom: I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun to induce labor (minus the Castor Oil, I refuse to get hard core diarrhea for no reason) nothing works, it's all old wives tales (even rimming isn't a sure thing, today is the third shot at that).
Milestone: Being almost done, this baby will be here for sure in 3 weeks (they induce if you are 2 weeks overdue).

38 weeks

Another great thing about Halloween was hitting 38 weeks pregnant and getting yet another doctors appointment. This one was actually worth it since I am now about 3-4 cm dilated, yay! It's a huge step since I was a tight 1 cm last week. maybe this is our week, keep your fingers crossed.

Full term!

How far along? 37 weeks baby!
Total weight gain: I actually cannot say. I didn't ask, I don't want to know and I refuse to step on the scale at home.
Stretch Marks? Same old ones, bigger, redder and nastier.
Sleep? between getting over this b*tch of a cold and pregnancy I get about an hour at a time at night.
Best moment this week? Making it to full term. Now I won't feel guilty when I jump on the trampoline.
Movement: Starting to slow a bit (I guess B2 is running out of room).
Food Cravings: None. So lame!
Gender: I'm still convinced that it's a boy, soon we will see.
Labour signs: None *la sigh* I am only about 1cm dilated and looks like this babe is at least going to be a November baby (sorry Heather).
Belly Button in or out? Well it ain't going back in till this baby comes out so still a major outie.
What I miss: Beer, sitting without pain in my ribs, laying without pain in my hips and my old rings.
What I am looking forward to: Truthfully, going into labour, oh and being done work on Friday.
Weekly wisdom: Getting down onto your hands and knees and washing the floor does not put you into labour. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.
Milestone: Making it full term, yay for developed lungs and being done any day now.

Big scare this morning

On my way out the door to go to work, I fell down the stairs.

Apparently our condo complex is still watering the grass at 5:00 in the morning and when I stepped out onto our steps the water had frozen into a nice sheet of ice. Being as coordinated and graceful as I am right now at the almost 8 month mark I slipped. I ended up 3 steps down, on all fours and completely shaken up. After brushing myself off, crying to Blair and getting hugs from Kaiya for being "scared" I headed off to work.

I am still a little frazzled and sore. My knee stings like a b*tch and my back is stiff but other than that baby seems to be fine, kicking and rolling up a storm. Could of been a million times worse and I am thankful that I fall so "gracefully". Now to give the management company a piece of my mind.

I thought I could get away scott free

But it turns out that I have finally begun to swell. *la sigh* Up until yesterday I had very minimal amounts of swelling in my hands and feet. Now (no thanks to the 1/4 bag of salted pistachios that I munched on last night) I have ballooned up. Bye-bye rings and cute sandals that no longer fit. Hello stinky slip-ons and cubic zirconium's.

31 weeks

Today I had my 31 week doc appointment. Everything looked good. Heart beat was strong at 141 and my belly is right where it should be. Something interesting that the doc mentioned was that at the last ultrasound tech wrote down what gender B2 is, it's right there in my file! All the docs at the clinic know and all I have to do is ask and we will know too. Oh the torture. This pregnancy has been filled with opportunities to find out the sex, my will power has never been tested like this before! Only 9 ish weeks to go!

Pregnancy update

I have been avoiding posting about my pregnancy for a while now, not because it's not going well but only because I am feeling so guilty that I have no belly pics to post. I am so lame or is it tired? By the time I remember that we should take belly shots I am already in my pj's, makeup off and looking a little worse for wear so I put it aside saying "tomorrow, I will take some tomorrow". Well since tomorrow has not come yet, an update will have to suffice.

How far along? 30 weeks and a bit
Total weight gain: 26 pounds (oh my)
Stretch Marks? Same old ones, no new ones. Praying to the belly gods it stays this way.
Sleep? Not since I was 5 or so months *la sigh*
Best moment this week? Actually this is from last week but I think it will work: finding out the cord is gone from around B2's neck. Yay.
Movement: Mostly on my right and left sides. I guess this baby is sideways most of the time.
Food Cravings: None. So lame!
Gender: At my ultrasound last week the tech informed me that this baby has HUGE feet. 5cm already! I am convinced it's a boy now. You know what they say about big feet ;)
Labour signs: Contractions galore but nothing that points to pre-term labour. Thank goodness.
Belly Button in or out? Do I even need to reply. It's a cabbage patch nubbin now. No way to hide that thing.
What I miss: Playing rough/tumbling with my little girl. She doesn't know why Mommy can't wrestle anymore.
What I am looking forward to: Not being pregnant. I am ready for my old body back. It's so much rougher this go around.
Weekly wisdom: Take lots of baths
Milestone: Making it 3/4 of the way through my pregnancy.

So as I mentioned, I had an ultrasound last week to check on whether or not the cord was still wrapped around B2's neck. It's clear, yay! The tech also commented that it appears this baby is a chunky monkey already and has a full set of hair. It sounds like Kaiya all over again. I am so excited to have another. They are just so precious.

Exhausted

I am absolutely exhausted right now. Between the emotional roller coaster of Blair's surgery and the physical toll that my body has taken in the last few days I just want to lay down and sleep for a whole day. Unfortunately I am also in so much pain that laying down hurts, standing hurts and sitting hurts. My hips and pelvic bone are going to be the death of me. It doesn't help that I am the only one who is walking the dog, taking care of Kaiya and cleaning/cooking right now (not that I am blaming Blair at all for this).

I am not sleeping well. I got the whole house to myself on Tuesday night when Kaiya slept over at Nana's and Blair was overnight in the hospital but my anxiety and worry for Blair kept me up. Kaiya hasn't slept through the night in over a month and when she does get a semi good sleep in she is up between 5 and 6 in the morning.

I am just SO TIRED!! I really just want to not be pregnant anymore. I know how blessed we are to be able to have another child and I know that it could be 10 times worse but I am just ready for another outside baby. Two months is just too long when you are in this much pain. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to relieve hip/pelvic pain while pregnant?

Starting to nest

I bought my very first article of clothing for baby. It was a sleeper from Costco, not a huge purchase but still a very important one. I am starting to connect with this baby. I am getting more and more excited as the days tick by and I am getting more and more ready for a little tiny newborn. I haven't opened the door to the nursery in months and I am now ready to go in and dust off all the baby items we are going to need.

A couple of days ago while I was waiting to get my lovely heartburn medication refilled at superstore I began browsing through the baby section. I couldn't help but pull all the car seats off the shelf and do the one-two inspection of them. Will this work for baby? Will this not? How heavy is this one compared to the other etc. I rushed home to tell Blair all about the things we need to do/get for this baby. We are now down to less that 3 months and with talk of induction due to the cord being around B2's neck (only a few weeks early) the months are getting shorter. I might get my Halloween baby after all!

Pregnancy Update:
How far along? 27 weeks and a bit
Total weight gain: 20 pounds (don't judge me!)
Stretch Marks? Same old ones, no new ones, no expansions yet either. Yay
Sleep? What's that?! Between Kaiya, my hips and the heat I am lucky to get 2 hours in a row.
Best moment this week: Our very first B2 purchase.
Movement? It's an acrobat in there, already taking after it's sister.
Food Cravings? None that I can tell, just loving food in general right now.
Gender? This week I think it might be a boy. I am feeling very aggressive ;)
Labour sign? Holy Braxton Hicks Batman!
Belly button in or out? Out. Almost a full cabbage patch nubbin now. You can see it through my clothes.
What I miss? being able to move quickly. Everything is in slow motion now. Getting up, sitting down. I feel 90.
What I am looking forward to? Buying the new car seat, hopefully this weekend.
Weekly Wisdom? Don't leave sandwiches unattended on the kitchen counter. It might just disappear.
Milestone: Passing my Gestational Diabetes test. Dino-sours here I come.

Milestone: Almost hitting 6 months.

Half Baked

I can't believe that I am already 20 weeks along. Half way there... wow! How times flies. Now that we are getting into summer I can see time just flying by even faster. This baby can take it's sweet time cooking in there. i am just not ready. Not ready for fall, not ready to be a mom of 2 yet, not ready to be done work for another year. I am just ill prepared.

So how are things progressing so far?

Total Weight Gain: I'm guessing about 10-12 pounds
Maternity Clothes: Yup, got a dress for my cousins wedding this weekend that I am so excited to wear!
Stretch Marks: Same old ones, just getting a little redder.
Sleep: Starting to get a little uncomfortable. Lots of rolling around (and it's getting warmer at night too, yuck).
Best moment this week: Our Anatomy ultrasound whit whoo!
Movement: Flip Flops and barrel rolls. Someone is taking after their sister ;)
Gender: We chose not to find out. Yay team green!
Labor signs: Nada
Belly Button in or out? Still in the awkward inny/outy, in betweeny stage.
What I miss: BEER!!!
What I am looking forward to: BEER!!!
Weekly Wisdom: I'm not feeling very wise, actually I am feeling rather stupid these days with my baby brain.
Milestone: Hitting the halfway mark and getting a thumbs up at the anatomy scan.

Pics to come of the little peanut and my growing belly (apparently I look 6 1/2 months along, not 5, yikes!)

OMG I can clear a room

I stink! The gas I have with this pregnancy is just outright rude. When I was pregnant with Kaiya my biggest dilemma was the heartburn, now apparently it's gas. Ok so it's not as bad as I make it out to be. I am not a walking cloud of toxic green smoke but I am getting way more gas pains then before and at night I think Blair has gotten up and left the room after I have very shyly exclaimed "excuse me" more then once in the past few weeks. Perhaps maybe it has something to do with the giant Costco size bag of Cheetos I keep eating when I get home from work.

Cute little skunk found here.

Food Cravings? Hummus I guess (if I have to put something).
Gender? Not gonna find out.

Belly Button In or Out? Still in

So this is what happens when Blair and I do laundry together

I should of known when I mixed our clothes together in the washing machine that this was going to happen again,

I am pregnant!

Yes, baby Kaiya will no longer be the baby. She will be a big sister to a small peanut.
So here is some info to catch up:

How far along: 12 weeks 2 days
Due Date: November 14
How am I feeling: Awesome again (although I had 3 weeks of hell this time.... morning sickness is rough).

And there you have it. Number 2 is on it's way (wait that sounds like I have to poop, eeew).
