Found treasure:

This weekend we are putting in our new floor. I am so excited and nervous. I have no idea what I am doing and Blair is just as clueless. Everyone keeps telling us that it's pretty easy, but neither of us are really trained in the art of home reno's so I am hoping that it's not going to be too much of a disaster.

We have been doing a lot shuffling of furniture to make it easier to move while we lay the laminate. While cleaning out the liquor cabinet and dusting off the very old bottles of spirits I came across a green box with a gold label on it. After blowing away the cobwebs I was shocked to discover that it has a bottle of Dom Perignon in it.

"Blair, we have a bottle of Dom Perignon down here!"

"What. No way, it mustn't be real. Lets see. Holy Crap it's a bottle of Dom Perignon. Do you think it's any good."

"I don't know, when should we drink it? The next special occasion?"

"When is it appropriate to drink a $200 bottle of champagne?!"

The hoarder in me started to scream "Don't drink it! Save it, save it for something REALLY special"

It's like the Avion points (Equivalent to Air miles) that just keep racking up, and the left over wedding cake that was frozen and ended up in the trash. Or those fancy shoes that I don't want to wear and scuff because if something really big came along I need them to be perfect. There are so many things we are "saving" and I am having a hard time living on the edge. I know we need to be more sporadic, but that's just not who we are. We are meticulous planners and we need to think out every single event before we do it. Way the pros and cons then make a decision. Yup we are boring nerds.

I think we might be waiting a very long time for that "very special" day to come and I hope by then that my very pretty, very expensive bottle of champagne has not gone bad and does not taste like vinegar.

When would you drink a bottle of Dom Perignon?
